Brandon Sapala | Managing Partner

Brandon Sapala is a real estate and corporate attorney who serves as a trusted legal partner to lenders, investors, and businesses nationwide. He represents financial institutions, alternative lenders, borrowers, and investors in a full spectrum of commercial transactions, with a particular focus on debt finance. Throughout his career, Brandon has successfully closed over $4 billion in transaction volume.


Drawing on his experience at international law firms and as in-house counsel for a private commercial lender, he offers a unique perspective that blends big-law polish with practical business insight. His approach helps clients manage risk, close deals with confidence, and position their businesses for long-term success.


Brandon received his J.D. from Florida State University College of Law and his B.S. from the University of Alabama.

Donald Sapala | Partner

Donald Sapala brings over four decades of experience in litigation, alternative dispute resolution, and risk management. Donald served as Managing Counsel for a Fortune 250 company, where he oversaw cases involving significant financial exposure, reputational risk, and complex legal issues. 


At Sapala LLP, Donald serves as a strategic advisor on matters involving litigation exposure and dispute resolution, leveraging his deep experience to help clients identify, mitigate, and manage legal and business risks. 


Donald received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and his B.S. from the State University of New York at Albany.

  • Served as transaction counsel for lender, overseeing outside counsel, in $220 million senior loan and $65 million C-PACE financing for the construction of a hotel, conference center, indoor water park, and amusement park located in Missouri


  • Served as transaction counsel for lender, overseeing outside counsel, in $107 million senior loan and $75 million C-PACE financing for the construction of a luxury ski community located in Utah

 

  • Represented lender in the purchase and restructuring of an A-Note, B-Note, and mezzanine credit facility totaling $120 million secured by a mixed-use building located in New York City


  • Represented lender in $90 million portfolio financing of healthcare facility located in Michigan


  • Represented lender in $88 million portfolio financing of self-storage facilities across eight states


  • Served as closing counsel for lender in $48 million financing for the construction of a condominium and resort located in Colorado


  • Represented lender in the purchase and restructuring of a $30 million credit facility secured by a senior housing asset located in Missouri
